Are you responding to life from your true self or your conditioned self?
When I saw these words they really hit home. In a world where our bodies are used as a weapon against us, it is refreshing to be reminded of the power we have within us.
The happier we are with our body just the way it is, the more I believe we can value it, nourish it and support it. What I see, is diet culture destroying our ability to love our own bodies. Lies and fakery about what it takes to feel our best.
As a fitness trainer, I focus on the strength aspect of fitness instead of the aesthetics. I have no fear of helping you look good, we all want that, but what is looking good? Does it come at a cost to your mental health?
If your goal is to lose weight, how can you achieve this in a mindful and loving way?
Can you love your body the way it is now, but make a conscious choice to change things because that is what you really want?
I am interested to hear your thoughts on this and what the post brings up for you. Mel x

Hi, my name is Melanie Briony and I am a fitness and lifestyle coach with over 10 years experience in the fitness and wellness field. As a woman in my late 40s, I began to notice how women my age and older were missing from the conversation when it came to their fitness needs. I was also noticing changes in my own body that I couldn't find answers to which was really frustrating considering all the study I have undertaken over the last decade. Learning about menopause has been really enlightening, how did I not know this about my own body? That is why I am making it my business to bring this information to you from the best research available. Have any questions? Send me a message.
